I’m not going for a run today either, but it has nothing to do with sharks. To make up for it tomarrow, I go for an extra long run.

It is true! I ran into a bear on Saturday after wandering off into the woods to talk to a man about a dog, as it were. I’d just sat through a performance of the Velvatine Rabbit done by 7 and 8 year-old children, when — will quietly contemplating the nature of the universe — a 4 foot tall black bear stood up from about 10 feet away, woofed at me and then ran off into the forest. And now a public service message.

A sort of brutal run today, a little over one whole minute slower than yesterday, but still 4 beautiful miles and so on. I’ll just have to run it that much faster on Monday. Tomorrow it’s off to the super duper-er friends of the library used book store for me and I could not be happier.

Sanity, or whatever. Anyway. I walked up a mountain lastnight for squidfingers and Whiskey. Not such a bad proposition if you ask me. More running and grunting today to follow, but first a visit to ye old helpful physical therapist, who will hopefully green light my shoes. It’s raining horses out and seems really cold. I love Juneau.
